Today, we hit the water with returning clients, the Hanson party. The last time we fished together, we had an epic day, putting a serious whooping on the walleye. This time, our target was a keeper sturgeon. As is often the case this time of year, the bite was slow, and despite our best efforts, we didn’t quite land that sturgeon we were after.

But, as you know, I can’t let the crew go home empty-handed, so we switched gears. We broke out the walleye jigs, and it didn’t take long before we started putting fish in the boat. By the end of the day, we had a solid limit of walleye for the Hanson’s to take home, which was a great way to salvage the trip.
