Last fish wonders make it happen 02/08/2025

Out on the hunt for some giant walleye with Shaun and Kathy, we covered a lot of miles in search of untouched water that hadn’t been hammered by other boats. We found some nice fish, but unfortunately, we didn’t land the 30”+ giants we were hoping for. That said, avoiding the crowds and staying off the beaten path felt like a win in itself.

As the snow began to fall and the cold started to set in, we stayed focused and fished well into the next morning. By the time 1 a.m. rolled around, we decided to call it a night, feeling good about the 22 quality walleye we had caught, photographed, and released.

Just as we were finishing up, with the last few rods out, the planer board rod got buried. Shaun reeled in a 13-pound, 30.5” Columbia River giant! What a way to cap off the night. Definitely a memorable one!
