April Week One Fishing Report Bite Is On 04/01-04/07/2026
April has kicked off with a bang here at Fisher’s Catch Outfitters. As always, the team is staying after it chasing walleye on both the Columbia and Snake Rivers, fishing out of the Tri-Cities, Washington and Umatilla, Oregon. Right now, the walleye is active and feeding hard as they push toward the spawn this month. We’re finding success across the board jig and worm, jig and plastics, and trolling crankbaits are all producing. Now, they’re not too picky and will hit just about anything we’re putting in front of them. That said, we do expect things to shift as the spawn gets underway. The fish will still be there, but they’ll get a little more stubborn and less aggressive, which means anglers may need to slow down and work a bit harder to stay on the bite for a couple weeks. But right now? The bite is strong. This is the way to take advantage of great fishing, active fish, and plenty of opportunity to put some of these tasty walleyes in the freezer. If you’ve been thinking about getting out, don’t wait. Now is the time to give us a call and get on the books.
