Back to the daytime walleye for a day 02/05/2025
It was a bright, sunny day on the walleye grounds. We set out from Umatilla, Oregon, with the goal of finding some eater-sized walleye for the group to catch and take home. We began by trolling with crankbaits, hoping for a good bite. Though the cranks were slow, we did lose a nice fish before we even had a chance to get a good look at it. After a couple of hours of trying crankbaits around the river with little success, we switched to jigs. It didn’t take long before the walleye started hitting the boat. By the end of the day, we had a great haul—24 walleye for the guys to take home.
