We kicked off August in a big way here at Fisher’s Catch Outfitters, with FCO boats spread from one end of the Columbia River to the other. From the mouth of the river all the way back to our home waters around the Tri-Cities, the crew was busy chasing salmon, walleye, and sturgeons. Pro Guide Blake made the trip west to Astoria and the famous Buoy 10 fishery, where the focus is now on Columbia River salmon. Just a little farther upriver, Pro Guide Mike has been working Drano Lake, chasing fall Chinook and getting clients in on one of our favorite salmon fisheries of the season. Meanwhile, the rest of the FCO team stayed busy closer to home, fishing out of Kennewick, Washington, and Irrigon, Oregon. The walleye crews continued putting fish in the boats, while our sturgeon trips gave clients the opportunity to battle some of the Columbia River’s biggest and hardest-fighting fish. The first week of August was nothing short of awesome. One of the things we love about this time of year is the variety. Whether you want to chase salmon near the mouth of the Columbia, target Chinook at Drano Lake, fill the cooler with walleye, or hook into a giant sturgeon, we have an adventure waiting for you.
