The Fishers Catch Outfitters crew rang in the new year on the might Columbia River in search of some retainable sturgeon. With the slot limit in the John Day pool 43″-54″ you have to find the right fish to be able to take one home. We had a bang up day on the first day with moderate action in negative degree weather We manage to get some fish to take home. Day 2 did not fair as well with upwards of 20 bites we could not get a fish to commit and stick. It was a great day of fishing bit not the best of luck catching.
