With the New Year upon us that means that the retention sturgeon opener is here. The Fishers Catch Outfitters crew set out in search of the 43″-54″ fish in the John Day Pool. We started off the morning with a drag ripping 9′ Columbia river monster. It was the first sturgeon that Dave has ever caught, so even though it was to big to keep it made for a lasting memory. The day did not end though without the guys getting the fish they were in search of! It was a great opener.
