Day one with the Denver and Wyoming crew—Matt, Brian, and Preston—was an absolute blast! This crew fishes with me every year, and we always get after it. They’re here for the chance to hook a Columbia River giant, and while last season it took all three days to make that happen, we’re hoping to land one a bit sooner this time around.

Night one was a huge success. We landed a lot of fish, and even better, we managed to get one of the giants they were after into the boat. Brian had the opportunity of a lifetime when the rod went down, and he reeled in his new personal best—an absolute trophy! This beast came in at 33 inches and 14.4 pounds. A fish like that will be hard to beat!
