Weekly Fishing Report Columbia River Action Continues 05-18/05-24-2026
It was another solid week of fishing for the Fisher’s Catch Outfitters crew. Many of the FCO boats spent the week spread across the Columbia River system, launching out of Umatilla and Irrigon, Oregon, along with Crow Butte, Washington, chasing both walleye and sturgeon. The walleye bite slowed down for a few days, and we had to work harder to stay on fish. Adjustments, moving water, and staying patient were key but in the end, the guides managed to put quality numbers of walleye in the boats for clients each day. Some days are easier than others, but that’s what makes a strong guide team valuable, and our crew stayed after them. On the sturgeon side, the action was fantastic. Boats have been averaging 20+ sturgeons a day, giving clients nonstop opportunities to battle these incredible river giants. The sturgeon fishery is in great shape right now, and it’s been one of the highlights of the month. Overall, May has been an outstanding month on the water, and we’re looking forward to finishing it strong with another great week ahead. June is shaping up to be another excellent month for both walleye and sturgeon fishing. If you’ve been thinking about getting out on the water, now is the time.
