Fishers Catch Outfitters Fishing Report

January 18th Retention Sturgeon

It was a day of looking for the Columbia River white sturgeon. It is retention season in the John Day pool and the quota has not been met yet. Todays clients have never caught a Columbia River  sturgeon and we were hoping to make that change today. We did not get the one we were looking for so they could take one home but we did land a couple with the biggest one measuring just over 9 feet.

January 17th Combo Sturgeon and Walleye

It was another great trip with returning clients Robbie and Courtney.. They brought along a couple friends that wanted to get their hands on a Columbia River white keeper sturgeon, but today just did not produce the critter we were looking for. After several hours of slow sturgeon fishing we set out on search of some great eating Columbia River winter walleye. With the walleye holding deep we decided to get after them with jigs and they ended up producing well. All in all a another successful and great day with these clients.

January 16th Walleye / Sturgeon

Today was a day for combo fishing. We started the day in search of a keeper Columbia river white sturgeon. With the cooler water temps the sturgeon seemed to bee a little slow on the bite. We managed to boat a little shaker and miss the hookset on a few others. With the slow sturgeon fishing it was time to go after some walleye. The walleye wanted to paly a little and we ended the day with a nice catch of eyes for the group. Fun day and great clients.

January 15th walleye

It was another good day on the Columbia river. The Fishers Catch Outfitters crew had to get out and get back on the walleye from their break in Texas. With upcoming walleye trips for clients it was time to get out on the Columbia and find them. It was a bit of a search, but we found them in the Boardman Oregon area jigging deep water with a slow presentation.

January 9th Texas

The Fishers Catch Outfitters crew is on their second day of the Texas fun. We got the Gar checked off the list yesterday and now on to Texas Hog's today. With the night falling and no hogs in the feeder yet we have hope it is going to be just a matter of time. Around 5:30 pm we see what appears to be a hog off in the distance and sure enough it is headed out way. With patients and faith we managed to wait the hog out and he gave Miles a nice broad side shot at 75 yards, hog down. We went and drug the hog to the blind and wouldn't you know it another came in for  dad to shoot, hog down. With Texas Hogs checked off the list tomorrow is Texas Whitetail.
