It was a solid day for Pro Guide Pete and crew fishing line peeking salmon at Drano Lake and the Columbia River. The salmon fishing is just kicking off and getting started and the fish are playing. With August behind us and September in full swing we are looking forward to a little change in season with Fall Salmon getting ready to start for us here at Fishers Catch Outfitters. We hit the water today in search of a salmon or two before we hit the sturgeon grounds. Todays group wanted to try for sturgeon as they have never caught one. We launched out of Umatilla Oregon and deployed salmon gear for a couple hours and managed to put a beautiful Coho in the boat for the guys. Then moved onto sturgeon and the action never stopped. Today we hit the water launching out of Umatilla Oregon in search of some morning walleye and then some afternoon sturgeon. We started the morning off jigging and pulling worm harnesses for the Columbia River Walleye. It was a productive morning and we manage to get a bag of fillets for the family before turning our attention to sturgeon.  Did I mention that we were on the water with one of our very own weatherman Monty Webb. Pro Guide Pete is back down river chasing salmon for the clients. It was a productive day for the crew with early boat limits to be had. Spent the day on the water yesterday with Pete catching salmon now back to the walleye grounds in search of the eyes for the next group of walleye clients. With September just around the corner there is only one thing on the horizon and that is fall chinook salmon fishing. While Pro Guide Steve is off chasing Elk and Mule Deer Pro Gide Tony and Pete will be on the Columbia River chasing fall Chinook salmon. We are back on the walleye grounds this month. With all the shad smolt in the river it can make for a tough bite. We all pulling out all the sops from jigging, worming and cranking. It is a grind at time but today we had Fermin and the boys out to get on some quality walleye launching out of Umatilla Oregon. Today the Jig bit was the win.
