Fishers Catch Outfitters Fishing Report
January 4th Big Sky Country on Big Sturgeon
It was a great day on the Columbia River today chasing the awesome White Sturgeon. The bite was slow so we went on a search and put some miles on the FCO/ Les Schwab boat to get it done. The Fishers Catch Outfitters team managed to get a nice 45.5 " keeper to the boat. It took some time and patience but we got it done!! Fish on Bent Rods and Tight lines!
Jan 2 Sturgeon /Walleye day
Well the day did not come out like planed with my buddy Kyle. It was a cold day on the Columbia River chasing river monsters with no success. With the flows almost at a stand still and the fish dispersed all over the water system, the Fishers Catch Outfitters boat struck out. It was not our best day for successful fishing, but we still managed to have a great time and some good grub. After getting skunked by the mighty Columbia River White Sturgeon we spent the afternoon putting some walleye to the boat. We managed to get Kyle on his fist and biggest walleye in the same trip!! It is always a good time on the FCO/ Les Schwab Boat!!
January 1st Sturgeon Opener!
The Fishers Catch Outfitters crew got to spent New Years day on the water with a group from Salt Lake City chasing Columbia River white Sturgeon. Today was opening day to retain one of these great fish for the grill. We managed to catch a couple nice fish, one in the slow and one monster. Here are some great pictures of the awesome day on the water.
December Walleye 12/24
It is time for winter Walleye fishing here at Fishers Catch Outfitters. We have been out on the big Columbia River in search of winter walleye. With January 1st being opening day for sturgeon retention, the FCO crew will be focused on getting Sturgeon to the boat. Then back to winter Walleye we go. We are booking now for winter, spring and summer walleye trips. Shoot us a call or email if you wan to get in on the action.
December Mule Deer Hunt
With Christmas fast approaching Miles and I took a day to go see if we could harvest his first ever deer. This is a time a father will always remember. We were invited to my friends farm for a depredation tag hunt. We spent the day looking for a nice deer to harvest in a range we thought Miles would be comfortable with. The fist deer we seen was 300 yards, with Miles only shooting the rifle a handful of time (even with the shots being perfect) we thought we would pass for now and if we needed to would come back for it. We managed to slip up on another one at the range of 175 yards, but could not get the shot off do to other deer in the way of a clean shot. With he day going on and lunch approaching we managed to locate 3 nice deer on a side hill [...]
Iron Heads in the Canyon Dec 9th
Fishers Catch Outfitters spent another weekend in Hells Canyon with Hellbent River Charters. This is who you will fish with when you book a steelhead trip with Fishers Catch Outfitters. The weekend produced some more great steelhead and a whole lot of fun. Good times to be had in the canyon right now.
Getting it done on December one!
The Fishers Catch Outfitters crew hit the Columbia in search of some Columbia River white Sturgeon. It was a day of fun on the water with some good friends that were in search of a sturgeon. We managed to bring 11 nice fish to the boat with 4 of them being in the retention slot of 43"-54", should be a good retention season this year. We also lost a big one and Miles landed a nice 7'6" river monster. It is time to book your retention sturgeon trips for January and February if you are interested in retaining one of these fish. If not interested in retention, then catch and release of these awesome fish is all year long so get your seats booked for this awesome fun.
November 25th Sturgeon
It was a day of sturgeon fishing this cold foggy day of November. Fishers Catch Outfitters set out for a day of fun sturgeon fishing on the Columbia river. It was a day of firsts for Anthony and Jackie. We managed to get them on 15 nice fighting fish with 3 nice over-sized and 3 in the keeper slot (retention season opens January 1st) Should be a good one. With this being the first day Jackie has ever fished in her life she did awesome and fished like a pro. Setting the hook on some nice fish and fighting them all the way to the Les Schwab sled. It was an awesome day on the water.
Hell Bent in Hell’s Canyon
Had a great weekend with my great friends with Hell Bent River Charters chasing some Snake River Steelhead. With the weather shaping up nice cold mornings and crisp afternoons we managed to put some great fish to the boat. A total of nine fish were landed with 4 of them being keepers. Not all the fish we hooked into managed to make it to the net for the release. Some of them managed to get away from us before we could get them in the net. All in all we had another awesome time and are looking forward to the next trip. If you are looking for a great Hell's Canyon Steelhead, Sturgeon or Bass trip give us a call and we will get you all set up!
