April 16th Turkey Hunt!
With opening day not producing for Fishers Catch Outfitters like expected we returned the next day. With a cold weather front moving out from yesterday and the sky's clearing up the toms wanted to play. We started the morning calling in a some Jakes, and with this being the fist season Miles packed a gun he decided to take one! With one on the ground we spent the rest of the day working several bird and harvesting a nice older tom. If there is one thing we like to do here at Fishers Catch Outfitters, it is hunt and fish. April 3, 2017 – 12 Sturgeon To Boat
Fun Weekend with the Hells Canyon crew! Great time with great people. The white Sturgeon on the Columbia River has been very hot recently with over 12 Sturgeon coming up to the boat and several more getting off. The high water has continued and Sturgeon have been holding in some very weird positions. It has taken a lot of fine tuning to locate these monsters which normally hold in 70 feet of water.
March 27 2017- Afternoon 49 Inch Keeper Sturgeon
The water was completely open on the Columbia River with all shoots of the dam letting water go. The water was very rough and afternoon showers hit us a couple of times. However, the fishing really turned on with the Train Bite! We had several hits and one that smashed a bait with the rod doubling over and still missing the hook. However, Nicole got the next bite and set the hook on a keeper 49 Inch White Surgeon. She fought it like a pro and after 10 minutes of play she was able to bring the keeper fish to the side of the boat! Miles also landed a nice hard fighting little Sturgeon that we are excited to see grow up like his 12 foot cousins.
