Got to spend the evening with good friend Jake chasing down some Columbia River Giants. We are always in for the search of the next state record walleye. This is the time of year we spend focused on the big girls. Tonight was not the night we got the record but is is the night we put another teener to the boat. It was a day of scouting for us here at Fisher Catch Outfitters. As the water temps lower we are expecting the walleye to move into their winter grounds. Today we launched out of Irrigon Oregon in search of some Columbia River retention sturgeon. It is that time of year again when we get the opportunity to take home one of these awesome fish. Fishers Catch Outfitter Pro Guide Steve set out of Umatilla boat launch today in search of some keeper sturgeon. With the retention season opening um January 1st we are pretty active and busy looking for the 43'-54' keeper sturgeon for our clients. It was a night out with Pastor Josh and Neighbor Logan. Pastor Josh wanted to get out and do some fishing, so well why not. It was a great night of fishing and the guys had a great time. We pulled crank boats in 20-27 feet of water and it was productive with 16 fish coming to the boat. We released all fish over 22" and kept a few for the fryer. The weather has been great and the fishing even better. This years retention season kicked off with a bang and today was just the same with 3 keeper coming aboard the Fishers Catch Outfitters boat. Montana Bob gets it done again with his 9th year taking home a keeper sturgeon in a row. It was a great day with lots of action shorts, keepers and oversized decided to play today. With the turn of the new year among us, that only means one thing here at Fishers Catch Outfitters retention sturgeon season.
