January 6th Retention Sturgeon
The Fishers Catch Outitters team set out in search of a retention sturgeon with Steve. The water has gotten co0ld and the river is on a slow run so the fishing has been a little tough the past few days, We could use the water to heat up jyust a little to get these fish back on the bite. There are some fish being caught ion the Bonivelle pool. We are currently fishing the John Day Pool. It is also a good time to get on the books for winter walleye day and night trips available. Night Walleye January 4th
Fall / Winter walleye is in full swing for the Fishers Catch Outfitters team. We are searching the Columbia River for them toothy critters! We have had success pulling worm harnesses and jigs this week. The fish are in good shape and healthy. Most coming in at 18"-22" with a few big fish in the mix. Tonight we set out to chase some bigger fish and manages to get out first 30" fish of the 2022 season. We will be on these fish at night through Arpril so get in on some of the action and get your trip booked today. January 1 & 2 Opening of Retention Sturgeon
The Fishers Catch Outfitters crew rang in the new year on the might Columbia River in search of some retainable sturgeon. With the slot limit in the John Day pool 43"-54" you have to find the right fish to be able to take one home. We had a bang up day on the first day with moderate action in negative degree weather We manage to get some fish to take home. Day 2 did not fair as well with upwards of 20 bites we could not get a fish to commit and stick. It was a great day of fishing bit not the best of luck catching. December 24th Winter Walleye
The Fishers Catch Outfitters team is back on the Columbia River Walleye grounds. It appears the water has cleared yup a bit and the bite is back in full swing. Did a little pre-scout fishing with my buddy Tyler from Hell Bent River Charters and we found some nice fish. It was a morning of pulling worm harnesses and a little bit of jigging. The bit was soft and you needed to be patient but we got them. December 19th Winter Walleye
What an adventure! Pass closed on us Saturday night. Took us over 6 hours to drive East. We slept in and didn’t even push off until 9 am. Started of trolling worm harnesses were it was non stop action. Wind picked up a little so we switched to jigging. Put on an absolute clinic on these fish. Doubles, triples, fish flying over the rails. All of nice quality fish. Tony Fisher was on them! Made a short 3 hour trip of the day and ended up with 3 full zip locks of 100% organic gluten free fish tacos! What made this trip the best was we actually talked Haily Nesper into coming with us.
