Fishers Catch Outfitters Fishing Report
Last fish wonders make it happen 02/08/2025
Out on the hunt for some giant walleye with Shaun and Kathy, we covered a lot of miles in search of untouched water that hadn’t been hammered by other boats. We found some nice fish, but unfortunately, we didn’t land the 30”+ giants we were hoping for. That said, avoiding the crowds and staying off the beaten path felt like a win in itself. As the snow began to fall and the cold started to set in, we stayed focused and fished well into the next morning. By the time 1 a.m. rolled around, we decided to call it a night, feeling good about the 22 quality walleye we had caught, photographed, and released. Just as we were finishing up, with the last few rods out, the planer board rod got buried. Shaun reeled in a 13-pound, 30.5” Columbia River giant! What a way to cap off the night. Definitely a memorable one!
Columbia River giant walleye hunting 02/07/2025
I had the unexpected opportunity to get out on the water tonight with a buddy after my clients canceled at the last minute. While it was unfortunate to have the plans fall through, we couldn’t let that stop us from hitting the water and making the most of the evening. I'm so glad we decided to go for it because it turned into an unforgettable night of fishing! We ended up landing 18 quality walleye, with plenty of action throughout the evening. But the highlight of the night was definitely when we landed a massive 32-inch walleye weighing in at over 13 pounds. It’s always a thrill to see one of these giant fish hit the boat—it never gets old. Every fish we caught was carefully handled, photographed, and released to swim another day. If you're itching to get out on the water and target some of these incredible walleye, don't hesitate to hit us [...]
Back on walleye night ops 02/06/2025
After a fantastic day of catching eater walleye with Mike and his buddy, we couldn’t resist hitting the water again, this time in search of some trophy-sized walleye with Dunlap. The evening started off strong, with a beautiful 28" walleye hitting the boat early on, setting the tone for what was to come. It was exciting to see the new Vertical Jigs and HAVOC lures performing so well, consistently attracting fish and delivering great results. As the night went on, the action continued with several more nice walleye making their way into the boat. The excitement of targeting these larger fish really made the experience special, and it’s clear that the new gear is proving to be a game-changer. The fish seemed to be responding well to the presentation, and with every cast, there was the anticipation of landing another beauty. The thrill of night fishing for these elusive walleye added an extra layer of [...]
Back to the daytime walleye for a day 02/05/2025
It was a bright, sunny day on the walleye grounds. We set out from Umatilla, Oregon, with the goal of finding some eater-sized walleye for the group to catch and take home. We began by trolling with crankbaits, hoping for a good bite. Though the cranks were slow, we did lose a nice fish before we even had a chance to get a good look at it. After a couple of hours of trying crankbaits around the river with little success, we switched to jigs. It didn’t take long before the walleye started hitting the boat. By the end of the day, we had a great haul—24 walleye for the guys to take home. If you’re interested in an unforgettable fishing adventure, get in touch with us at Fishers Catch Outfitters!
Night on the water for Houston catching his first fish ever 02/04/2025
Last night, Miles, Fidel and I spent several hours in the chilly outdoors trying to catch some big fish with Houston. While it was another tough night for us, it was still far from disappointing, especially since Houston caught and landed his very first fish! This evening will be one we cherish, not because we reeled in the largest catch, but because we had the joy of introducing a young man to the world of fishing. His reaction upon landing his first-ever fish was absolutely priceless, and the icing on the cake was that it was a stunning 25” walleye! If you are looking for a great time on the water and a chance at some awesome fish, look no further give us a call here at FCO 509-727-7137.
STarting FEBRUARY OFF RIGHT WITH SOME NIGHT WALLEYE 02/01/2025
Another awesome and action-packed night of walleye fishing with the Brian Knotts crew! We spent the evening running around, hunting for the best bite and trying out some new areas that we hadn't fished yet. It was a bit of a challenge, as we worked hard to find the fish, but that’s all part of the thrill! The guys stayed focused and persistent, and by the end of the night, we had a great haul with 13 walleye brought to the boat. The highlight of the evening was definitely the stunning double we ended with — a beautiful 26” and 27.6” walleye. It was the perfect way to wrap up an unforgettable night on the water. We’re always up for the challenge, and every trip just makes us more excited for the next one. If you're looking to get in on the action and fish some prime spots, don’t hesitate to give us a call. Columbia River Night Walleye 01/31/2025
As January comes to a close, we had an amazing night on the water with Jesse and the crew, reeling in some walleye. These guys are always a blast to fish with, and we eagerly anticipate every trip out together. Tonight, the walleye bite was solid, with 18 fish caught. Unfortunately, no river giants this time, but we did manage to land some quality catches for the guys. We’ll keep at it and continue chasing that state record. If you’re interested in heading out and taking a shot at the record, give us a call here at Fishers Catch Outfitters at 509-727-7137!
JANUARY RETENTION STURGEON IS TODAYS TARGET 01/30/2025
Today, we hit the water with returning clients, the Hanson party. The last time we fished together, we had an epic day, putting a serious whooping on the walleye. This time, our target was a keeper sturgeon. As is often the case this time of year, the bite was slow, and despite our best efforts, we didn’t quite land that sturgeon we were after. But, as you know, I can’t let the crew go home empty-handed, so we switched gears. We broke out the walleye jigs, and it didn’t take long before we started putting fish in the boat. By the end of the day, we had a solid limit of walleye for the Hanson's to take home, which was a great way to salvage the trip. It’s always a great time on the FCO boat, no matter the conditions. We take pride in making the best of any slow day and ensuring our clients [...]
NIGHT WALLEYE OPS 01/28/2025
It was our first night out chasing trophy walleye, and we were eager to hit the water. We launched from the east end of Columbia Park, as the cold weather had left some of the boat ramps frozen over. No worries, though—we were prepared to make the most of it. Tonight, we focused on fishing with the new HAVOC HD lures from Vertical Jigs and Lures, which we were excited to test out on the walleye. And let me tell you, it turned into a night of pure HAVOC. The fish were hungry, and we were landing them left and right, finishing the night with 13 amazing fish. The biggest one came in at 28 inches, and while we didn’t quite hit the coveted “dirty 30,” it was still an impressive haul. Despite the chilly temps, the action kept us on our toes, with doubles coming over the rail more than once. The cold didn’t [...]
