Fishers Catch Outfitters Fishing Report
September Sturgeon 9/4
The Fishers Catch Outfitters crew set out in search of some Columbia River Sturgeon. We took a couple day break from salmon while they continue to move up river. It was a day of fun on the water with Chip and Ron as they have never caught a sturgeon, and this day put an end to that. We set the anchor at around 7 am and by 7:30 we had our first fish on the line. It was continued bites and fun until 11am. We managed to catch and release 15 Columbia river sturgeon. I think Chip and Ron may have been a little wore out, ha,ha. Lots of doubles and plenty of action for all. The fish liked the presentation of Salmon belly and Squid. Time to get out on the water and make some great family memories. Give us a call here at FCO if you are looking for some time on the [...]
Upper Columbia last day 8.29
It was a good season for the upper Columbia. It is always a great place to fish. The fish play and the scenery is great. We finished the upper Columbia fishery today and managed to get some quality fish in the box. We did not capitalize on all the take downs as we lost four fish. All in all a great season and fun fishing! Now off to the Hanford Reach for some fall fishing.
Upper Columbia Grind 8.28
It was a day of grinding for the Fishers Catch Outfitters crew. Seems we have been in a little bit of a slump trying to put fish on the boat. We managed to get a couple fish today. We are grateful for the fish we got and look to another day of great fishing. Not always are you the dog, somedays you are the hydrant.
Day two on the Ocean for the Fishers Catch Outfitters team. What a great weekend spent with "the Legend and some great friends. Today we set out to try and fill the Sea Breeze boat with Halibut! The day was a little rough but the fishing was decent we managed to get the boat its limit of halibut and both miles and I came home with some great fish. It was a great time and a much needed relaxing weekend. Now back to the upper Columbia for some more summer early fall salmon fishing. All this fishing was done out of Ilwaco Washington.
On the Ocean 8.22.2020
The Fishers Catch Outfitters team decided to take the weekend off from running clients and do a l;little fishing on the ocean. The original plan was to go after the awesome fighting Tuna, but with them still so far off shore the charter we were booked with could not pull of the trip in a day. So we went out bottom Fishing for seas bass and did not get disappointed. The skipper had us on fish and had his deck hand Jeff running to keep all the rods with fresh bait. We managed to put 80- seabass on the vessel in about an hour and a half. Also picked up several different species of bottom fish. All in all a great time on the ocean. This trip was booked with Sea Breeze Charters out of Ilwaco Washington .
8.15 Upper Columbia
The Fishers Catch Outfitters crew had a last minute cancelation today. With no clients showing we hit the water ourselves. We were trying some new tactics that we have not tried before today and well I will say they worked we had out limit to the boat by 10am and were headed back home for a Sunday off. We have one more weekend north on the upper Columbia. If you are looking to get in on some of this action give us a call we will be there 28, 29 and 30th of this month.
8.14 Salmon on the Upper Columbia
With no clients Friday the 14th Miles and I decided to go w=see if we could get on some fish in preparation for our Saturday clients. It was a bit of a grind for our kings at Bee-Bee Bridge but we manage to get 3 to the boat by 11am. We then took off to the Brewster pool to see if we could get some of them great eating sockeye in the cooler. It was time to do a little grocery shopping for the FCO team. It was a great day on the upper Columbia putting fish to the FCO boat. Give us a call if you want in on some of this action. We are now booking our second boat for the upcoming fall season on the Hanford reach.
Evening Stureon and Walleye 8/12
The Fishers Catch Outfitters crew got out on the water for and evening sturgeon and walleye trip with special guest Alonzo Mitz. You may know him as the late 80's early 90's #61 defensive end for the Seattle Seahawks. The big man wanted to get out on the water while he was in town visiting some family and friends. We managed to get out and get after the great Columbia river sturgeon. It was about an hour into our trip and boom, fish on. We had the fun of watching Alonso wrestle with a nice 9 foot beast. It was one heck of a good fight for the both of them big man against big fish. The night turned out great with Alonzo landing his first sturgeon and first walleye. He ended hos trip with a nice walleye lunch prepared by the cooks at Clover Island Inn.
8.8.2020 Upper Conlumbia
With the Summer season just abut wrapped up for the Fishers Catch Outfitters crew this season on the Upper Columbia, I must say we did not knock them dead. The fishing is producing well for many. It is time to get in on a little bit of the action if you are looking to get some Summer Sockeye and Kings in the freezer. The fish are cutting well and fighting even better! With one more weekend on the upper Columbia we will see what we can get done. I don't think the Banana was much help.
