Fishers Catch Outfitters Fishing Report
January 20th Sturgeon Trip
It was another great day for the Fishers Catch Outfitters crew on the big Columbia River Sturgeon fishing. We got a total of 4 fish to the Les Schwab boat with all of them being over or under the slot limit. We started the day off with a big white sturgeon that was over 9 feet in length, then boated a 38" , 40" and 59" Sturgeon. Even though we did not get the keeper we were looking for we did find a nice pool of smaller fish and lots of additional bites. The season is still open for retention season as the fishing has been tough in the John Day pool and the quota has not been met. So if you are looking for a day of fun and a possibility of taking one of these great fish home book your trip today 509.727.7137. Bent rods and Tight Lines,

January 10th 2018 Sturgeon Trip
It was a beautiful day on the Columbia River today. The Fishers Catch Outfitters boat hit the water at 7 am on a Sturgeon Excursion, we set out on a quest for one of the 43"-54" keep slot fish. The day produced a 38", 6'4" and a 5'7" Columbia River White Sturgeon. All though we did not find the keeper we were looking for we did get one of the anglers their first Sturgeon ever!! It is the tug that is the drug with these fish. I think there are 3 new addicted sturgeon fishermen born today!
January 6th sturgeon Fishing
We had another great day on the water today. The weather was amazing on the Columbia River. We got out early looking for keeper sturgeon, with the day showing it was going to be a slow one, and the bites very soft. Joe hooked into his first ever Columbia River Sturgeon and landed a nice 7 foot 2 inch monster. The look on Joe's face when fighting this fish was priceless, the whole reason Fishers Catch Outfitters does what we do. We love to build new friendships and be a part of the awesome experience people have catching these awesome fish.
HAPPY NEW YEAR!
The start of the 2018 Season was a good one. Fishers Catch Outfitters was on the water searching for a first time ever sturgeon for their client Jared and for some Keepers as retention season for the John Day Pool opened January 1st, 2018. Though we did not find the keepers we were looking for we did hook into a 9 foot fish first thing in the morning. This fish took Jared 30 mins to get to the boat and his reaction when he go to lay eyes on what was on the end of the line was priceless. So all in all this day was a great success. The time is now if you are looking to get your opportunity for one of these great fish. The retention season will close as soon as quota is met. Shoot us here at FCO a call if you want to book a trip 509.727.7137. Tight Lines! [...]
Hailey’s First Deer Hunt 12.28.2017
It has been a long time coming for this young lady. Hailey's first hunt was when she was 5, it was a cold day of goose hunting. After that experience I thought she would never want to hunt again. Not because the weather, but because the geese were never going to be able to "fly away again". I though, well way to go dad, you may have just ruined this one! Then 13 years latter she cam to me and said dad, I would like to harvest a deer. I let it go for a year and waited to see if she would bring it up again, and well she did! So with the help of a friend and a late season deprivation tag we started to put her hunt together. It all fell together, the Journey and memories and this day will never be forgotten. We here at Fishers Catch Outfitters do not guide [...]
Winter Walleye December 21st
With the cold weather moving in Fishers Catch Outfitters went after some winter Walleye with one of their favorite clients, Myron. With the water temps and the outside temps both in the 30's the fishing was a little tough. We did not get into a bunch of them but we found a few. Myron was the hot hand today landing several nice Walleye.
